Start Here: How to See Wildlife Like a Naturalist

    Welcome to the Explorer Crew.

This is a place for people who want to notice more when they step outside — not just what they saw, but what it meant.

Naturalists don’t walk through the same landscape as everyone else. They see movement patterns, behaviour clues, feeding signs, warning calls, and relationships between species that most people pass right by.

    And the good news?

You don’t need training to begin learning this skill. You just need curiosity.

Here’s how to get started inside the Explorer Crew:

Step 1: Share one wildlife sighting in the Introductions forum
Step 2: Try the 5-Minute Observation Challenge below
Step 3: Ask a question about something you’ve noticed but never understood

    That’s it.

Your first observation doesn’t need to be rare. A magpie in a parking lot counts. A squirrel on a fence counts. Tracks in the snow definitely count.

Every naturalist starts the same way:

By noticing one small thing more carefully than before.
